Nancy
Lopez
Chairman
She's won 48 LPGA Tournaments
playing outstanding golf but captured the hearts of America with
her smile. A member of the LPGA Hall of Fame, the PGA World Golf
Hall of Fame and "Golfer of the Decade" only gives a
percentage of the honors she's earned. In 1981 at the height of
her career, Nancy was aware something was missing in her life.
She had so much, she needed to give back. After meeting Dr. Jo
and the AIM kids, she knew she had found what she wanted to do.
The first Nancy Lopez / AIM Golf Tournament was held in 1981 and
continues as an outstanding event. The Chick-fil-A Hosted by Nancy
Lopez is another event that supports AIM. Nancy didn't just give
her name to AIM, she gave her heart. She serves as Chairman of
the National Ambassadors. |

Joe
Morgan
Joe is one of baseball's greatest
second basemen, MVP in 1975 & 76, part of the Big Red Machine,
and a 1990 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee. He is known as one
of the most intelligent baseball analysts on TV and the nicest
man around. In 1976 Joe made a visit to the AIM office with sportswriter
Ritter Collett. Amazed at what was happening to help these children,
Joe found it difficult to leave the building. That day he committed
to do anything he could to help AIM and he has kept that promise.
He will travel anywhere, anytime to represent AIM for the Handicapped.
In his book, "Joe Morgan: A Life in Baseball", you will
find pictures of one of his favorite AIM kids, Kelly, along with
Dr. Jo. He is a caring, longtime friend. |
